The Mullinax Group Inc. was founded in 1964 in Atlanta, Georgia.

T.R. "Ted" Mullinax a Fulton County Deputy Sheriff realized that law enforcement was overwhelm in attempting to prosecute bad check writers. Thousands of warrants were going un-served and retailers became more frustrated in the county results. Slowly he started collecting bad checks from a small office in Scottdale, Georgia. From those humble beginning the company grew to represent stores all over Georgia.

In 1982, Ted's son Ron Mullinax after the passing of our beloved founder took over the day-to-day operations of the company. Ron a license private investigator in Georgia saw the need all over the country for bad check collections. While there were collection agencies, they were none that specialize in bad checks. Under Ron's leadership the company has grown to represent thousands of retailers nationally from coast to coast.
